Born in Quebec City on October 17, 1956, Madam Justice Dutil is the daughter of André Dutil, an engineer, and Line Morin.
After having studied at Collège Jésus-Marie de Sillery, the Petit Séminaire de Québec and Laval University, she was called to the Quebec Bar in 1980.
Madam Justice Dutil practised law at Grondin Poudrier Bernier, and specialized in labour law from 1981 to 1996. She was a member of many committees of the Quebec Bar. In of May 1995, she was appointed a part-time member of The Commission for Public Complaints against the RCMP.
Madam Justice Dutil was appointed a judge of the Quebec Superior Court on November 8, 1996 and was elevated to the Court of Appeal on September 24, 2004.
While a member of the Superior Court, Madam Justice Dutil served on many committees. She was also secretary of the Conference of Quebec Superior Court Judges. She currently serves as board member of The Canadian Superior Court Judges Association and of the Canadian Chapter of the International Association of Women Judges (IAWJ). |
