Born in Saint-Jérôme on July 16, 1948.
He studied at the Séminaire de Sainte-Thérèse where he completed a Bachelor of Arts degree. He obtained his law degree with honours from the University of Ottawa. He was called to the Québec Bar in 1974. He subsequently obtained a specialized diploma in civil law (D.E.S.S.) from the University of Montréal.
Justice Rochon practiced law in Saint-Jérôme, together with André Forget, now a Justice of the Québec Court of Appeal.
While an attorney he also served as a Director on many Boards of both public and private corporations. When he was appointed to the Superior court in July 1994, Justice Rochon was leaving a firm of over twenty lawyers, Rochon, Prévost, Auclair, Fortin et D'Aoust.
On February 26, 2002, Justice Rochon was appointed as a puisne judge of the Québec Court of Appeal. |
