NOTICE TO THE MEMBERS OF THE BAR
SUPERIOR COURT - DIVISION OF MONTREAL
SPECIAL CLERKS
We have learned that certain attorneys have demonstrated a lack of courtesy and/or patience toward the Special Clerks sitting in Montreal. They have also behaved unacceptably during hearings held before those officers.
The duties and responsibilities of Special Clerks are both demanding and important and include exercising the jurisdiction of a judge in certain instances, as indicated in article 41 C.C.P. and elsewhere.
We must therefore insist that all attorneys who work in the Montreal Court House behave towards the Special Clerks in a manner that reflects and respects the vital importance of their duties.
